Welcome / Bienvenidos

Welcome to my web "On Science and Society". The aim of the web is to highlight some relevant and recently appeared knowledge about science, humanities, and societies. From a very personal point of view I will share findings that I think may impact the way we look at and understand our reality. I hope this web can help interested readers to find better responses to where do we come from, who we are, and where are we going to. For that purpose, I will use teachings from great thinkers and masters of science and of the study of societies, such as Charles Darwin, Edward Osborne Wilson, Jared Diamond, Steven Pinker, Frans de Waal, Yuval Noah Harari, and many others. The posts in the blog will be categorized using these questions. You can search for content using "where do we come from", "what are we" and "where are we going". Posts will be added periodically.

Please, use the following link to take a look at Paul Gauguin's picture originally titled in French: "D'où venons nous? / Que sommes nous? / Où allons nous?".

We begin as an isolated, humble cell, but that cell comes from a history of billions of years. From it and its past we descend as individuals, with our best angels and our worst demons. Throughout the attempt to describe and evaluate that history, which is the objective of this web, we will frequently talk about the phenomenon of evolution. The understanding evolution sheds on life is clarifying, resplendent, and reaches every corner of life’s knowledge and research. This web will deal with the evolution of matter and the evolution of life, but also with the impact of that evolution on how our instincts, passions, or our capacity of reasoning were configured, as well as how our beliefs and our societies appeared and developed.

Bienvenidos a mi web “On Science and Society” ("Sobre Ciencia y Sociedad"). Se puede buscar contenido usando “where do we come from” ("de dónde venimos"), “what are we” ("qué somos") y “where are we going” ("dónde vamos").
