Where are we going? / ¿Dónde vamos?

This web discusses the threats to our species, to nature, and to our planet. These dangers derive from the exponential growth of environmental modification due to, among other reasons (which include human nature), overpopulation. The threats contrast with the enormous progress made on health, longevity, and even in the standard of living of most of humanity. Progress could help to fight the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, if we manage to meet objectives such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from the United Nations. In a world that has achieved economic and technical development difficult to conceive until recently, achieving these SDGs could free all of humanity from poverty and hunger, while maintaining, it is still possible, an environmental nature not very different from the paradise inhabited by the first humans.

Esta web discute las amenazas a nuestra especie, a la naturaleza y a nuestro planeta. Estos peligros derivan del crecimiento exponencial de la modificación ambiental debido, entre otras razones (que incluyen la naturaleza humana), a la superpoblación. Las amenazas contrastan con el enorme progreso realizado en la salud, la longevidad e incluso en el nivel de vida de la mayor parte de la humanidad. El progreso podría ayudar a combatir a los cuatro jinetes del Apocalipsis, si logramos cumplir objetivos como los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) de las Naciones Unidas. En un mundo que ha logrado un desarrollo económico y técnico difícil de concebir hasta hace poco, lograr estos ODS podría liberar a toda la humanidad de la pobreza y el hambre, manteniendo, aún es posible, una naturaleza no muy diferente del paraíso habitado por los primeros humanos.
